The Good News
Yes, I know that there’s been gloom and doom in the “United” Kingdom media over the past week. And, for reasons of time-pressure, this will be a short burst.
We’ve had public arguments by politicians – even here in Wales – over the Leave vote in that now-historic referendum. The struggle for the leadership of the Tory Party has hogged the headlines for days and days. So has the dirty trick played by Boris Johnson’s “faithful” support, who’s now a candidate for the post himself! And Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party is being questioned as he struggles to delete all trace of Tony the Tory’s “New Labour”.
And there’s a lot more stuff to drag us down into the dumps.
So, as my time online is limited this week, there’s the uplifting news that WALES IS THROUGH TO THE SEMI-FINALS!!! I was as surprised – and delighted – as anyone else who lives in (or is an ex-patriot from) our land.
And the lads did it without the full contingent of Welsh supporters. Many were stopped from attending the match by what has been described elsewhere as “a fiendish English plot” which prevented us Welsh from getting through that blessed Channel Tunnel.
Well done, the lads – and thanks for letting the world know that Wales really is a separate nation from England.
